Why Don't Opera Companies Perform More Wagner?

Apparently because it's very strenuous. Performing his work night after night would take a heavy toll. I've been waiting for an opportunity to draw a singing Valkyrie for years. This is for the Dr. Know column in Cincinnati Magazine.  

Figure Drawings

It feels good to draw from the model, something I haven't done for a while. I like to balance out my conceptual and character illustrations with drawings from real life, even though there tend to be fewer vikings and seamonsters in the real world. I'm fortunate that there's a nearby life drawing session in Northern Liberties every week. It really keeps me observant.
