Vet Bills

Can vet bills be tax deductible? For an article on strange things that people have tried to deduct for the Investing Basics section in the Wall Street Journal – Sunday Journal.

I've also included the linework for a sense of the underlying drawing. I usually do more conceptual exploration with the sketches, but the cone collar seemed like a natural solution so I tried variations in composition and character. The art director, Mark Tyner, was great to work with, and gave me a reference photo of the author's pets. There's a quick sketch of them at the end.
